Childish Gambino Release Date
Posted By admin On 11/04/1921 Savage didn’t forget. At least not this time.
While there is currently no release date for this forthcoming album, “it seems likely that it will by the time of Gambino’s North American tour with guests Rae Sremmurd and Vince Staples, which launches Sept. 6 in Atlanta.”.
On Thursday night, the Atlanta rapper delivered i am > i was, the follow-up to his 2017 debut project Issa Album. 21 seemingly teased the release in early November, when he tweeted the date “12-7-18.” Naturally, many fans assumed the post confirmed 21’s sophomore album release date; however, Dec. 7 came and went with no project to be found.
“Dam I forgot to drop my album my bad y’all,” 21 tweeted on the night of the expected release.

The 14-track album includes appearances by Post Malone, Childish Gambino, J. Cole, Offset, and Schoolboy Q. In support of the effort, 21 launched a Motel 21 interactive art exhibit in Atlanta. You can learn more about the event, which wraps up Friday, over on 21’s official website.
Seemingly out of nowhere, Donald Glover, or perhaps those listening to him and his new song know him better as Childish Gambino, dropped an amazing single with a shocking music video to accompany it, and now the tune has become one of the few to debut at the top of the all-genre singles chart.
Gambino’s new track “This Is America” opens at No. 1 on the Hot 100, Billboard’s weekly ranking of the 100 most popular songs of any genre in the United States. The controversial cut is the thirty-first to begin its run on the chart at the peak, and somewhat shockingly, it’s the third of this year. Drake debuted a pair of tunes at the top, and Gambino has now ended the rapper's successful run, at least for one frame.
Jai ho. “This Is America” starting as high as a song can climb is huge for Gambino, who has never before come even close to ruling the ranking. Not only is the hip-hop hybrid his first No. 1 hit, it’s also his first appearance inside the top 10. He came close to breaking into the region recently when his song 'Redbone,' which was featured on his most recent album “Awaken, My Love!,” vaulted all the way to No. 12.

While he is a well-known and successful musician, both in terms of sales and critical acclaim, Gambino has only managed to collect a handful of Hot 100 appearances, though it seems he may have ascended to a new level. Never known as a hitmaker, but rather a tastemaker, the rapper/singer/songwriter might be able to collect a few smashes with this latest era.
“This Is America” is not the first taste of what Gambino’s upcoming fourth full-length will sound like, though a collection is expected at some point in the next year. While he hasn’t given a title or tentative release date, his last album dropped in December 2016, and it helped him grow in popularity. “Awaken, My Love!” and several of the songs on it, most notably “Redbone,” caught the ear and won the admiration of nearly every critic, and Gambino surprised everyone by earning five Grammy nominations for his work, including in the highly-coveted Record and Album of the Year verticals. He took home his first golden gramophone for “Redbone” in the Best Traditional R&B Performance category.
Helping “This Is America” to No. 1 on the Hot 100 is its captivating and highly controversial music video, which has been racking up millions of plays every day since it debuted. The clip follows Gambino as he dances in a warehouse, bouncing from showing off his moves and invoking stereotypes to actually murdering several people by shooting them. Some find the visual to be a stunning work of art, while others are offended. Either way, it is collecting views non-stop, and those helped it enter the singles tally at the peak.
